Retaining the Wilderness Workshop
|
Educating adults and youth, locally, nationally and internationally is of utmost importance to ensure that the M-KMA is successful in its mandate.
Outreach and Educational Programs
- Annual Environmental Youth Camp
- Workshops advancing knowledge
- Presentations and displays
- Classroom sessions
- Brochure and website development
- Promotional items
Presentations are provided by Muskwa-Kechika Advisory Board members and staff to increase awareness of the M-KMA and associated issues and activities. Presentations to organizations and to schools may be requested by contacting the Muskwa-Kechika Advisory Board Coordinator. To provide a more focused perspective on research conducted in the M-KMA, UNBC provides presentations to local communities on M-KMA projects.
Another way that members of local communities can remain up-to-date regarding Advisory Board activities is by attending the public sessions of the annual winter Muskwa-Kechika Advisory Board meeting. The meetings are generally rotated between communities throughout the region, including Mackenzie, Fort Nelson and Fort St. John.
